So first things first…. lets smash that kitchen wall out. As you can see, hard to believe we are even bothering to redo the kitchen given how amazing it is…. Here is the before…

Keith and I then took to it with the impact driver and the hammer, so the bare bones ended up looking like this. Keith made it all the way to the last piece of cupboard before gouging his hand and needing a blood transfusion. So here we are ready for demo day!

So here is the room looking back towards the kitchen the morning before work starts… Both the photo above and below were taken about 7AM on beautiful autumn morning and the sun was drenching the whole area. Can’t wait for the wall to be gone!

Temporary supports in place and work starting the roof to move the loads to where the new beam will be placed.

“Hammer time”

The truck driver delivering the beam had a great time trying to get his truck down the driveway, only took three attempts and one tree removal!

So now we just need to figure out how to get it in the house…. through the window it went.. and a few hours later… BOOM! Hallelulah

Couldn’t be happier with the result! What a great outcome.
Thanks to Darren and the guys for the hard work and effort in getting the work done so fast… and also for leaving all the bricks in the house, can’t wait to move them to the skip bin 😦
Now to start with the kids rooms, and the floor!
